Nigeria technical adviser Gernot Rohr has handed Uche Agbo his first national team call-up to replace injured Leon Balogun in next month’s Fifa World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.
Mainz’ Balogun was ruled out of the Super Eagles squad after straining his muscle in his side’s 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at home on Saturday, and the 20-year old defender is expected to take his place in the team.
Agbo is currently on loan at Spanish league side, Granada from Watford FC, as the NFF can confirm that his club has been contacted officially for his availability.
