Suarez is the best striker in the world – Godin
Atletico Madrid and Uruguay defender Diego Godin declared compatriot Luis Suarez as the best striker in world football today.
Barcelona forward Suarez, who won the European Golden Shoe for his 40-goal haul in the last campaign, has played alongside Godin in the national team for years.
Despite both players being caught up in the La Liga title battle, Godin was quick to laud praise on his compatriot for a job well done.
“He’s the best No. 9 in the world, the best striker,” Godin told ESPN. “It is very difficult to mark him, since we always come up against each other.
“He is very crafty, has great movement in the area and is an extremely complicated attacker to defend against.”
Suarez will have a chance to add more goals to his impressive tally when Barcelona entertain Granada on Sunday at the Camp Nou.
